I’ve been fishing my entire life but for the past 15 years I’ve been “hooked” on tournament fishing. From small club tournaments, to regional trails, up to national championships. Along the way I’ve made a lot of great friends who share the same passion as me. Guys who I consider not only great friends but pretty much family.
Unfortunately over the past 12 months, not one, but TWO of these great anglers were both diagnosed with skin cancer. Blown away by the news for each of them the first thought is always what can I do to help, and in this case I can’t do anything besides pray they got it in time and the procedures that followed worked. This really got to me as I’m fair skinned and always make extra efforts to prevent getting burned. After a lot of thought there is something that I can do, that something is bringing this topic to light in our community and give it the serious attention it deserves.
